Premium Nine-Steam Polygonatum Tea Gift Boxes for Importers and Private Label Programs

A Tea Category Western Buyers Have Not Fully Discovered Yet

Walk the aisles of any specialty food expo in Europe or North America and you will see matcha, rooibos, moringa, and a dozen adaptogen powders. What you rarely see — but what Chinese wellness consumers have used for centuries — is Polygonatum, known in Mandarin as Huangjing. It is a rhizome, not a leaf, and it behaves nothing like a conventional tea. That difference is exactly why it deserves shelf space.

Maorun Health (Lishui) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. grows, processes, and packs Polygonatum products in the forested mountains of southwestern Zhejiang Province. The two images above show our finished retail format: a rigid deep-green gift box with a satin ribbon handle, gold foil blocking, and inside, individual gold sachets of the finished tea arranged in a lined tray. It is a packaging format built for gifting, duty-free, and premium health retail — not for commodity bulk bins.

What Makes This Product Different

The material is harvested from Baima Mountain at elevations above 1,000 meters. High-altitude, cool, and mist-heavy conditions slow the plant's growth cycle, which is why the region's Polygonatum is regarded as genuine dao-di material — the Chinese concept of a raw material grown where it grows best.

The processing is where the product earns its distinctive character. Our Polygonatum tea follows the traditional nine-steam, nine-sun (jiu zheng jiu shai) method: repeated cycles of steaming and sun-drying, nine times over. The cycle is not ceremonial. Each round breaks down the raw rhizome's harsh, starchy, slightly bitter edge and converts its texture into something rounder and sweeter. Our company has applied an improved technique to this intangible cultural heritage process, addressing the two failures that have historically held Polygonatum back in export markets: poor mouthfeel and loss of nutritional value during processing.

The finished tea is described in our own product literature as supporting digestive comfort and respiratory and kidney health — a positioning consistent with the ingredient's long use as a food-grade tonic in China. For overseas markets, we recommend presenting it as a botanical infusion and functional food ingredient rather than making disease claims, and we will support your regulatory positioning with accurate product documentation.

Reading the Packaging: What the Photos Show

Buyers evaluating the images should note several practical details:

Structure. The outer carrier is a rigid board box, not a folding carton, with a reinforced base and a satin ribbon handle mounted through metal eyelets. It holds its shape on a retail shelf and survives courier handling — the single most common failure point for gift-boxed tea shipped internationally.

Presentation. The lid lifts off a separate inner tray that holds the sachets in a neat two-row grid. Each sachet is gold foil, sealed on all four sides. This gives you portion control, aroma retention, and a clean unit for hotel turndown service, corporate gifting, orsampling programs.

Branding real estate. The front panel carries a circular gold logo, a vertical Nine Steam Nine Sun band, and generous clear space. That clear space is intentional — it is where your brand mark goes in a private label run.

Color language. Deep green with gold foil reads as premium and natural simultaneously, a combination that travels well across Asian, Middle Eastern, and Western gift markets without cultural friction.

Company Capabilities Behind the Product

Maorun Health was established on 29 August 2022 and is registered in Suichang County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province. We operate as a forestry industrialization enterprise integrating seedling cultivation, standardized planting, deep processing, and sales.

Raw material security. We hold 1,000 mu of core planting base under direct management, plus 5,000 mu of cooperative planting area. A quality traceability system runs from seed-source selection through harvest, so a buyer can trace a finished lot back to its growing block.

Processing capacity. Our 2,000-square-meter modern standard plant houses automated lines for ready-to-eat nine-processed Polygonatum, Polygonatum tea, and Polygonatum wine, with an annual processing capacity of 500 tons. Products hold SC certification and organic certification.

Supply chain model. We work on a "company + cooperative + base + farmer household" structure. This is not marketing language — it is how we secure volume. It gives us contracted farmer capacity around our base, which stabilizes raw material supply and pricing across seasons, and it gives rural households a reliable buyer for their crop.

Product range. Beyond the tea shown here, we produce ready-to-eat nine-processed Polygonatum — naturally fermented, no additives, characterized by non-starch polysaccharides with a mellow, aromatic profile — and Polygonatum wine. A distributor can therefore build a small but coherent brand block from a single supplier.

Where This Product Sells

Premium tea and health retail. The rigid gift box suits specialty tea shops, herbal apothecaries, and organic grocers that merchandise by story rather than by price per kilo.

Corporate and festival gifting. The ribbon-handle format is designed for gifting seasons. Private label runs with a distributor's mark on the front panel convert well in B2B gifting programs.

Hotel and hospitality. Individually foil-sealed sachets work for in-room amenity programs and spa menus, where a distinctive regional story adds perceived value at low unit cost.

Duty-free and travel retail. Regional-origin wellness products perform strongly with travelers seeking something they cannot buy at home.

Functional food and beverage manufacturing. Buyers formulating RTD teas, powder blends, or supplement lines can source processed Polygonatum as an ingredient rather than a finished retail item.

Industry Insight: Why the Timing Works

Three forces are converging. First, Western consumers have spent a decade learning to accept adaptogens and mushroom extracts as ordinary grocery items — the education barrier for a rhizome-based tonic is now far lower than it was five years ago. Second, "traditional process" is no longer a curiosity claim; it is a premium justification, and nine-steam nine-sun has a genuinely defensible story behind it. Third, source transparency has become a purchasing criterion, and buyers increasingly want to know the elevation, the region, and the processing method behind an ingredient. We can answer all three with documentation.

The category is also still uncrowded. A distributor who moves early on a well-sourced Polygonatum line is competing against near-empty shelf space rather than against established brands.

Our stated direction for the next three years is to concentrate on functional food development for Polygonatum and extend the value chain, with the goal of becoming a leading regional brand in the category. For a distributor, that means a supplier investing in product depth rather than standing still on raw material sales.
